BREAST REDUCTION
Breast reduction is a procedure to remove excess fat from the breast, glandular tissue and skin to get a breast size more proportional to your body and to alleviate the discomfort associated with excessively large breasts (Macromastia).
Disproportionately large breasts can cause both physical and emotional distress for patients. Patients with macromastia may experience physical discomfort resulting from breast weight. The resulting pain may prevent some patients from performing joint physical activities.
Although breast reduction is often performed to solve medical problems, patients who do not have the symptoms of macromastia, but are dissatisfied with the size of their breasts can continue breast reduction as an aesthetic procedure.
PREPARATION
Breast reduction surgery is for patients who have large breasts and want to solve problems such as:
Chronic back, neck and shoulder pain that requires pain medication.
Chronic rash or skin irritation under the breasts.
Nervous pain.
Restricted mobility.
Low self-esteem due to large breasts.
Difficulty fitting in bras and clothing.
In general, breast reduction surgery is not recommended to patients for the following reasons:
Smoking.
You have certain conditions, such as diabetes or heart problems.
Obesity.
You want to avoid breast scars.
POST-PROCEDURE
