In this guide

Most people who ask what a hair transplant costs in the UK are asking about private treatment, so the question is really two questions: what a UK clinic actually publishes as its price, and what decides where your own figure lands. This page answers both with published figures rather than estimates, and you do not have to get in touch with anyone to see a price.

What a hair transplant costs in the UK, written down

Rather than guess at a market average, we quote one clinic that publishes its prices in full. Wimpole Clinic, at 2 Harley Street in London, states on its own prices page: “The average cost of a hair transplant at Wimpole Clinic is between £3500 and £7000.”

On the same page, read on 25 September 2026, it lists these starting prices:

ProcedurePublished starting price at Wimpole Clinic
FUE hair transplantfrom £3,499
FUT hair transplantfrom £3,499
Beard transplantfrom £2,999
Eyebrow transplantfrom £3,499

The clinic states that its prices include pre-care, surgery and aftercare, with nothing extra for medication. These are one clinic’s own figures, quoted as published and dated to the day we read them. Prices change, so check Wimpole Clinic’s prices page for the current figure; other UK clinics publish their own, and a written quote for your case is the only figure that applies to you.

Why the number moves: grafts, technique and how many sessions

Two people quoted by the same clinic can pay very different amounts. Wimpole Clinic, for example, says its price depends on how many follicles you need to replace. Three things move the figure.

  • Grafts. Refining a hairline needs far fewer grafts than covering the front and the crown together, and your donor area at the back of the head decides how many are available.
  • Technique. FUE takes follicles one at a time; FUT removes a strip of donor skin and divides it into grafts. DHI places the grafts with an implanter pen, and Sapphire FUE opens the channels with sapphire blades. Some clinics charge the same for every technique and some do not, so ask for the technique to be named on your quote.
  • Sessions. Extensive hair loss is sometimes planned over more than one session, and a quote should say whether it covers one session or more.

What is included also moves the figure. Consultation, medication, aftercare products and follow-up appointments are in some prices and extra in others, so ask for a written quote that lists each of them.

What a hair transplant costs with us, written down

TreatmentOur all-inclusive price
Hair transplant (FUE, DHI or Sapphire)1,500 €

That is one fixed price, the same whether your plan uses FUE, DHI or Sapphire and whatever the number of grafts your case needs, confirmed in writing before you decide anything. What it includes, and how the treatment runs from the first photos to the flight home, is set out on our hair transplant in Turkey page.

Our price is in euros and the UK figures above are in pounds. We have left the conversion to you, at the exchange rate on the day.

Paying for it: what to ask about finance before you sign

Some clinics offer ways to spread the cost; Wimpole Clinic publishes its finance options on the same prices page. The questions worth asking are the same wherever you book.

  • Is it interest-free, and what is the total amount you will repay?
  • Who is the lender, and is it authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority? You can check on the FCA’s Financial Services Register.
  • When is the first payment due, and what happens if your treatment date moves?
  • Is any deposit refundable, and on what terms?

With us, you can pay in up to 6 instalments at 0% interest. You receive the payment details in writing, together with your offer.

People also ask

How much does a hair transplant cost in the UK?

Wimpole Clinic in London publishes an average of between £3500 and £7000, with FUE and FUT hair transplants from £3,499 (read 25 September 2026). Your own figure depends on the number of grafts, the technique and what the quote includes.

How much is a hair transplant in Turkey?

With us, it is one fixed price of 1,500 €, confirmed in writing before you travel. Other clinics in Turkey set their own prices, so compare written quotes that state what is included.

Is a hair transplant worth the money?

That depends on what you want changed and on what your donor area can supply, which is why the useful first step is a surgeon’s review of photos of your hair: it tells you whether your case suits a transplant and what the plan would involve, before you spend anything. To judge value, compare written quotes that state the technique, the number of grafts and what is included.

How many grafts do I need?

It depends on the area to cover, the density you want and what your donor area allows, and a surgeon sets the number after reviewing photos of your hair. With us, the plan uses the maximum your case needs, and the price stays the same whatever the number.

Does the price include the hotel, transfers and an interpreter?

Ours includes transfers and a translator, together with your aftercare products. Accommodation is not included in the package. With any provider, check the written quote line by line.

Can you pay for a hair transplant monthly?

Some clinics offer finance; Wimpole Clinic, for example, publishes its finance options. With us, you can pay in up to 6 instalments at 0% interest, and the payment details come in writing together with your offer.

What to check before you book anywhere

Whichever clinic you choose, in the UK or abroad, the same short list lets you compare like with like.

  • A written quote for your case that names the technique and the planned number of grafts.
  • What the price includes: consultation, medication, aftercare products and follow-up appointments.
  • Who carries out each stage of the procedure.
  • How follow-up works once you are home, and who you contact with a question.
  • The payment terms, and when any deposit stops being refundable.

A clinic that answers all five in writing, before you pay anything, makes the comparison easy.

Having it done in Turkey

We are an official representative office: we organise treatment at our partner hospitals in Turkey and stay with you from the first photos to the follow-up. Send a few photos of your hair and the surgeon recommends the technique and the graft plan, in writing, within 48 hours, before you decide anything.

Most patients fly home the day after the procedure, and follow-up reviews continue through the first year.

For smaller areas, see beard transplant in Turkey and eyebrow transplant in Turkey. Female pattern hair loss is planned differently: see hair transplant for women in Turkey.
